Woman Expected To Survive Shot To The Neck In Concord

CONCORD (CBS SF) - A 19-year-old woman who was shot in the neck in Concord on Tuesday night is expected to survive, Concord police Lt. Brandon Richey said Wednesday.

Police responded to the area of Pine Street and Clayton Road at 10:24 p.m. after receiving a report that someone had heard possible fireworks or gunshots, Richey said.

When they arrived, the officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators were following up on leads in the case Wednesday and were not releasing any additional information about the circumstances of the shooting.
