Man Critical After Cotati Shooting; Suspect Arrested

COTATI (BCN) -Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting in Cotati.

Antonio Harless, 39, was arrested at his home in the 700 block of Rohnert Park Expressway in Rohnert Park, Cotati police Sgt. Steven Bourns said.

Cotati police Officer Jason Yarnall found the shooting victim lying on the sidewalk in the 700 block of East Cotati Avenue in Cotati at about 1 p.m. Sunday.

Police determined that the shooting occurred inside a home near where the victim was found, Bourns said.

He was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

The shooter fled the scene with a female in a four-door sedan before police arrived, Bourns said.

Witnesses described the shooter as a white man about 6 feet tall with a bald or shaved head who was wearing large earrings, Bourns said.

Rohnert Park and Cotati police investigators identified the suspect as Harless and served a search warrant at his home, Bourns said.

Harless was taken into custody and is being held without bail in Sonoma County Jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
