14-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - A girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted in Oakland Monday and police are searching for three suspects, police officials said.

The 14-year-old girl was kidnapped near Bancroft Avenue and Church Street at around midnight and driven to another location where she was sexually assaulted, police said.

Police are searching for the suspects who were described as three black men and they were driving a blue Lexus, police said.

Two of the men were described as being bald and around 40 years old. One was described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and around 280 pounds.  The other was described as 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, police said.

The third suspect was described as being around 20 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, police said.

Investigators with the special victims unit have been assigned to the case, which police said is a high priority.

Police are reminding the public to use caution while going about daily activities and offered some tips for safety.

Police advised residents to be aware of surroundings and to avoid becoming distracted by electronic devices.

Stay in well lit, populated areas when alone, be alert when going to and from a vehicle, and notify the police if something or someone looks suspicious, police said.
