SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco's busy Park Presidio Blvd. was shut down for several hours Thursday because of a crash that left a power pole leaning over the roadway.

The car crashed into the pole near Clement Street at 4:35 a.m., fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

She said the driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening but couldn't say if anyone else had been in the car.

The accident left the pole leaning precariously over Park Presidio, and police shut down the thoroughfare in both directions.

A Pacific Gas & Electric crew responded and removed the damaged pole, and the roadway reopened late Thursday morning, PG&E spokeswoman Fiona Chan said.  No power outages were reported.
