Albany Youth Soccer Coach Accused Of Lewd Acts With Girl
ALBANY (CBS SF) – An Albany youth soccer coach and entrepreneur was arrested last week on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a juvenile girl over a period of several years, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.
Bejan Bennett Esmaili, 46, is a co-founder of Flex-Power, a provider of joint and muscle pain relief cream, and a youth coach at the NorCal Premier Soccer League, according to the organizations’ websites.
He was arrested at about 7:45 a.m. Friday on Marin Avenue in Albany on suspicion of continuous sexual abuse between 2004 and 2007, police Lt. Daniel Adams said.
He declined to say whether the arrest was related to Esmaili’s coaching duties, or how long police had been investigating him.
Bail was set at $250,000.
Police are interested in speaking to anyone who might know more about the case or who know of additional victims.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Sgt. Dave Bettencourt at (510) 525-7300.
