Co-Workers Of Beaten Giants Fan Hold South Bay Fundraiser

SAN JOSE (KCBS) – The paramedic co-workers of Bryan Stow, who was critically injured last week by two Los Angeles Dodgers fans, are holding an all-day fundraising barbecue in San Jose on Wednesday.

Stow was injured after last Thursday's season opener between the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium and remains in a coma.

KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:

American Medical Response General Manager Gil Glass said that while they're concerned about Stow's injuries, they have been heartened by the huge community response.

"It sends such a huge message to the people that work here and hopefully, a great message to the family that people really care about him and want to see him do well," said Glass.

The barbecue fundraiser is being held until 8 p.m. at the American Medical Response offices at 1670 Las Plumas Avenue.

The Giants are also holding a fundraiser for Stow when they play the Dodgers at AT&T Park next week. The two suspects are still at large and the reward money in the case has topped $100,000.
