'30 Seconds To Mars' Jared Leto As Kurt Cobain

SAN JOSE (CBS/LIVE 105) - To mark the 17th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, Jared Leto of '30 Seconds To Mars' decided to dress like the late Nirvana frontman and post a tribute video. '30 Seconds To Mars' will be at the Event Center At San Jose State University on Friday, April 8th.

The bizarre video pictures Leto complete with a blonde wig while he performs some of Nirvana's 1994 tracks "Pennyroyal Tea" and "Rape Me."

Along with the tribute video, Leto also posted a lengthy tribute on his blog, which he explained why he filmed the video.

" So grateful for his contribution and inspiration. Not sure I'd be doing this if it weren't for him. " - Leto

"I heard today was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago," he wrote. "Can't believe it's been that long. So grateful for his contribution and inspiration. Not sure I'd be doing this if it weren't for him."

He added, "I shot a short piece of film when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I'd share it now."
