Motorcyclist Found Dead On Side Of Oakley Street

OAKLEY (CBS SF) -- A motorcyclist appears to have crashed and died some time overnight in unincorporated Contra Costa County, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The victim was found by a passerby pinned under a motorcycle on Holland Tract Road near Delta Road east of Oakley just after 9 a.m. Sunday, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

A preliminary investigation revealed the rider likely crashed overnight and was not found in time to be helped, Anderson said.

The victim was confirmed dead at the scene, Anderson said.

The crash is being investigated by the CHP.
