OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A vigil was scheduled Monday night for slain Oakland restaurant owner Jesus Campos, a spokeswoman for Mayor Jean Quan said.
The vigil was set for 6:30 p.m. in front of Campos’ Otaex Mexicatessan restaurant at 3872 International Blvd. in Oakland.
Oakland police spokeswoman Holly Joshi said Monday that are no new developments in the investigation into Campos’ death.
Campos was shot and killed as he was opening his restaurant shortly after 5:30 a.m. Friday.
Police Chief Anthony Batts said an initial investigation indicated that two suspects killed Campos in a botched attempt to rob him.
