Janet Jackson In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBSSF) - Ms. Jackson arrives in the Bay Area for two highly anticipated nights on Tuesday, April 19th & Wednesday, April 20th at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Jackson's 'Number Ones: Up Close and Personal' Tour is the music icon's sixth tour since her 'Rhythm Nation Tour' in 1990. Her last appearance in the Bay Area was in 2008 during her 'Rock Witchu' Tour at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Much different from her previous concerts, Janet Jackson's 'Up Close and Personal' Tour is truly that, an intimate tribute to her fans. Jackson will be performing music exclusively from her latest album, 'Janet: Number Ones'. This time around there will be no flashy pyrotechnics, maybe a little glitz and glam, but mainly, just Janet, her music and the fans that love her.

If you're unfamiliar with the size of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, it is unlike the stadium sized Oracle Arena or the vast openness of the Shoreline Amphitheatre. At a third of their size, the 'Civic' will undoubtedly allow for a more intimate setting for Jackson to perform...exactly how she intended.

In addition to her concert tour, Janet Jackson is also on a nationwide book signing tour to promote her best-selling 'self-help' book, titled 'True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself'. In her book, Jackson opens up about her struggles with her body image, her previous relationships and her famous family. The singer/actress also shares her health and fitness regimens that she has learned from her trainer and in addition, some recipes that changed her life.

Forget the Super Bowl incident and the strange marriages. It's all about the multi-talented and inspirational, JANET.
