Richmond Man Shot Dead At Vallejo 7-Eleven

VALLEJO (CBS SF) - A Richmond man who was shot early Saturday morning in Vallejo died at UC Davis Medical Center later that afternoon, a spokeswoman for the Solano County coroner's office said.

Vallejo police said the victim, 22-year-old Giovanni Fragozo, was shot several times in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven at 1095 Magazine St.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at about 1:20 a.m.

Saturday but did not find a victim, Lt. Ken Weaver said.

About 10 minutes later, Fragozo turned up at Sutter Solano Hospital in Vallejo after someone drove him there, Weaver said. He was transferred to the UC Davis hospital, where he died around 5 p.m.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Fragozo's death was Vallejo's fourth homicide this year, Weaver said.
