Cisco To Streamline Its Business Structure

SAN JOSE (AP) -- Cisco is planning more changes as it continues to focus on streamlining operations following several challenging quarters.

Cisco Systems Inc., which last month killed off its Flip Video camcorder business, has been working to narrow its focus amid growing competition.

Cisco said it wants to focus on five priorities: core routing, switching and services; collaboration; data center virtualization; architectures and video.

The company did not say if it is cutting any jobs.

Representatives did not immediately return messages for comment.

Cisco is organizing its worldwide field operations into three geographic regions. Its services business will organize around key customer segments and delivery models.

Cisco says the changes will take place over the next 120 days.
