Gap, Inc. Fires Its Design Director
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Gap Inc. design director Patrick Robinson is leaving the company effective immediately, according to the firm.
Gap said it will conduct a search for a successor.
Pam Wallack, head of the Gap Creative Center, made the decision to oust Robinson and will manage the design teams in the interim.
Robinson had been executive vice president of Gap Global Design for Adult and Body for four years.
His departure follows a series of management shuffles and organizational changes aimed at reviving sagging sales of the brand.
Gap suffered an annual drop in a key revenue measure for six straight years including 2010.
Gap also operates Banana Republic and Old Navy stores.
