3 Dead, 1 Hurt In Shooting At Fairfield Home

FAIRFIELD (CBS 5) -- Three people died and one was injured in a shooting that may have resulted from a domestic dispute in a Fairfield home Saturday afternoon, a police spokesman said.

KCBS' Mark Seelig Reports:

A man who had been shot called police from inside a home on the 5200 block of Venus Drive at about 12:10 p.m., Officer Cleo Mayoral said.

"He said he'd been shot and that another man was in the home, shooting other people," Mayoral said.

Arriving officers didn't hear any gunshots from outside the home. When police entered the house, they found a man and woman who were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, Mayoral said.

Another man was found with life-threatening gunshot wounds and taken to a local trauma center, where he was pronounced dead soon after arriving, Mayoral said.

The man who died at the trauma center is believed to be the shooter, Mayoral said.

He said police had been at the home previously because of other incidents. All of the victims involved appeared to live in the home, police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Osgood said.

"There was apparently a lot of tension in the house," Mayoral said.

Mayoral was unable to immediately release information about the prior incidents.

It appeared as though the suspected shooter took his life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Mayoral said.

A fourth victim was found in the home suffering from gunshot wounds that were not believed to be life threatening, Mayoral said.

The man who survived was the one that initially made the witness call, Mayoral said.

The names of the deceased victims were not released by the Solano County coroner's office as of 4 p.m.
