Castroville Man Gunned Down On Street
MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- A 24-year-old Castroville man was killed in a shooting Saturday evening, authorities said.
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at about 5:45 p.m. and found a man lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of Salinas and Haight streets, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
The Monterey County coroner's office pronounced the man dead at the scene, but his identity will not be released until his next of kin is notified, deputies said.
