67-Year-Old Accused Of Hitting, Killing Boyfriend With Car In San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A 67-year-old woman is suspected of killing her boyfriend by hitting him with her car in San Jose on Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle in the 1600 block of Pala Ranch Drive around 10:20 a.m., police said.

They arrived to find Li Jiang Wu, a 69-year-old San Jose resident, down in the street.

Wu was taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where he was pronounced dead at about 1:35 p.m.

Detectives believe Wu and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument and that she had tried to leave the house. She allegedly struck Wu with her car as he attempted to stop her from leaving, police said.

She drove off after hitting Wu, but returned later and was questioned by police. They released her, but the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office is now reviewing the case.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Dave Gutierrez or Detective Brian Spears at (408) 277-5283.  Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867) or visit svcrimestoppers.org.
