Auto Test: Ford Fusion Hybrid, Owner's Experience

(KCBS) - While an experienced auto editor can easily measure the virtues and shortcomings of a test car in a week's time, when it comes to a totally new model with new engineering we can only hope it will be a winner in owner's hands.
You may remember my review of the Fusion Hybrid--good handling, fine ride, reasonably peppy---a very pleasant compact sedan.
Now, thanks to a friend buying one, we have an owner's assessment.
After 5,000 miles, she loves it. Mileage, averaging 37 to 40 in local use, 44 on long trips. She appreciates the feature that tells instant mpg. Car used no oil, and required no visits to the dealer. She also appreciates the quietness of the engine and tires.
Chief complaint-- her husband bumps his head getting into the passenger seat.
Well, I won't recommend shorter husbands.
