Victims Identified In San Francisco Bernal Heights Double Homicide

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The San Francisco medical examiner's office has released the names of two men who were fatally shot in the city's Bernal Heights neighborhood on Saturday evening.

Pacific Som, 21, and Rathanak Chea, 26, were killed in a shooting reported at about 7:20 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Appleton Avenue, near Holly Park.

After the shooting, Som and Chea were taken to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, police said.

A 30-year-old man was also injured in the shooting but is expected to survive.

Police said late Saturday that they had detained multiple suspects in connection with the shooting, but police Officer Albie Esparza did not yet have more information about the suspects Monday morning.

The murders are San Francisco's 23rd and 24th homicides of 2011, Esparza said.
