Officers found the victim, a Hispanic man believed to have been in his 40s, at about 10:40 a.m. suffering from severe trauma in the 2200 block of Mission Street, Officer Albie Esparza said.

The man died from his injuries.

Witnesses described the vehicle, which fled the scene, as a white mini van, possibly a Chevy, Esparza said.

The suspect was described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call San Francisco police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to tip411.
