Antioch Police Arrest 3 Suspects In String Of Armed Robberies

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) - Police arrested three men Monday night who are suspected of committing a series of armed robberies in Antioch and at least six other cities in Contra Costa County over the past several weeks, police said.

Investigators suspected that Erick Daigle, 18, and his brother Gyovanni Daigle, 20, both Antioch residents, had committed numerous armed robberies in Antioch in recent weeks with Bay Point resident Maurice Brunson, 19, Antioch police said.

They also had information possibly linking the trio to armed robberies in Brentwood, Pittsburg, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Pacheco and Alamo, police said.

Antioch police detectives were conducting surveillance on the group shortly before 10 p.m. Monday when they watched them drive a white Ford Thunderbird to a park behind the Domino's Pizza restaurant at 2333 Buchanan Road.

The detectives saw the trio put bandanas over their faces and then rob the restaurant at gunpoint, according to police.

The detectives notified patrol officers, who helped arrest all three suspects as they fled, police said.

A gun, bandanas and cash taken in the robbery were recovered during the arrest, according to police.

When detectives interviewed the Daigle brothers, they allegedly admitted to robbing three 7-Eleven convenience stores in Antioch on May 28 and June 14, police said.

All three men were booked into county jail on suspicion of robbery.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Santiago Castillo at (925) 779-6933.
