1 Dead, 1 Missing After Being Swept Off Yosemite Bridge

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (CBS/AP) -- Officials at Yosemite National Park say one hiker is dead and another is presumed dead after the two were swept over a bridge into a reservoir while returning from a backpacking trip.

Park officials said one body was recovered soon after the men fell into the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir on Wednesday morning. Rangers continue to search for the body of the second hiker.

The names and ages of the two men have not been released.

The two were part of a group of five hikers who had been backpacking for several days.

Officials say the bridge where the pair were swept away was open to the public, but it was filled with water from rain and snow runoff.

The park wasn't releasing any other information as of Thursday afternoon.
