Suisun Police Shoot & Kill Armed Man In Camouflage

SUISUN CITY (CBS/AP) -- A 55-year-old man shot and killed by Suisun City police after brandishing a handgun was struck once in the chest, according to authorities.

The man has been identified as Bernardo Ararao. Police said Ararao was shot by an officer after going to a senior citizen center with a gun around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and reportedly saying he was "Going on assignment." Ararao was dressed in camouflage.

Officers confronted Ararao a short time later in the parking lot of a post office. An officer opened fire after Ararao refused to drop a loaded gun, according to police.

He was pronounced dead at NorthBay Medical Center.
