Woman Raped In San Rafael Hotel; Sex Offender Arrested

SAN RAFAEL (CBS/AP) -- A registered sex offender has been arrested after police allegedly found him naked and unconscious in a San Rafael hotel room where a woman reported having been raped.

San Rafael police jailed 33-year-old Indugo Asifa Williams without bail Monday on suspicion of rape, assault to commit rape, sodomy by force, oral copulation by force, burglary and violating parole.

Police Sgt. Jim Correa said the woman told investigators that she thinks she left the door to her room at the Villa Inn slightly ajar and that an attacker forced his way in and raped her. She was taken to a local hospital with cuts and a possible broken eye socket.

According to the Marin Independent Journal, Williams has a 2000 conviction for unlawful sex with a minor and annoying or molesting a child.
