(CBS 5) — On the links, they take in some of the best views. But they also have a job to do. Lewis asked this Good Question: How much are professional caddies paid?
ANSWER: According to golf professional Mitch Lowe, caddies are usually paid a weekly salary by their touring pro, plus a percentage of the earnings in a tournament.
Lowe said a standard arrangement involves 5 percent of what the pro golfer makes during the week, plus 7 percent of the take if the professional makes the cut. Caddies usually receive an additional 10 percent of the winner’s prize money.
