Sonoma Teen Driver Arrested For DUI After Crash

FORESTVILLE (CBS SF) -- A 16-year-old girl who received her driver's license in May was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Forestville Friday morning, CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said.

The teen was driving with two 17-year-old girls in a Dodge Ram truck when it ran off Old River Road at Canyon Road in Forestville and overturned around 7:30 a.m., Sloat said.

The CHP responded to the crash and noticed signs of intoxication in the driver, Sloat said. The teen said she had been drinking hard alcohol the night before, Sloat said.

She was placed under arrest, a blood sample was taken and she was taken to a hospital for treatment, Sloat said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Britnee Brasher, of Forestville, suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said.

The CHP is recommending the driver be charged with felony DUI causing injury and violating the provisions of her license by driving with the two 17-year-old passengers in the truck, Sloat said.
