3 Arrested In Stabbing Of Teen At San Jose Park

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - Two juveniles and a 19-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 13-year-old boy at a San Jose park on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The stabbing occurred around 5:40 p.m. at Erikson Park, police Officer Jose Garcia said.

The boy was walking with a friend, also 13, when three teenage boys approached them and one stabbed the boy, Garcia said. The victim was transported to a hospital.

Officers responded and found the suspects. Two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were booked into juvenile hall.

The third suspect, identified as Sonny Javier Alas, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, Garcia said.

He said police were continuing to investigate the case and have not yet determined whether it was gang-related.
