Soldier From Daly City Killed In Afghanistan Bomb Attack

HONOLULU (CBS / AP) -- The military said a Hawaii-based soldier from the Bay Area died this week from injuries suffered during from a bomb attack in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said Monday Sgt. William B. Gross-Paniagua of Daly City died Sunday in Kunar province after enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

The 28-year-old was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Battalion at Schofield Barracks on Oahu.
