Stolen Laptops From Palo Alto School Recovered; 2 Arrested

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) - Laptops stolen from a Palo Alto high school about two weeks ago were recovered by police Wednesday while serving a search warrant in East Palo Alto, police said.

Sometime overnight between July 21 and July 22, thieves broke into a classroom at Gunn High School and stole two laptops. The burglary was one of several recent break-ins at Palo Alto high schools.

An investigation led police to issue a search warrant for a residence where officers located the stolen property.

Alfredo Antonio Gonzalez Jr., 18, and Nayely Anahi Castillo, 18, both of East Palo Alto, were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact police at (650) 329-2413. Anonymous tips can be made by emailing paloalto@tipnow.org or by texting or calling (650) 383-8984.
