Woman Shot In Antioch Drive-By

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) - A 39-year-old woman was injured in a drive-by shooting in Antioch early Thursday morning, acting Capt. Leonard Orman said.

The woman was walking in the 700 block of I Street at about 2 a.m. when two men pulled up alongside her in a newer-model silver Range Rover with shiny rims.

Someone inside the car began shooting at her, firing about 10 shots and hitting her twice in the arm, Orman said.

The victim was able to make it to a nearby apartment where she asked for help.

She remained hospitalized Thursday but is expected to survive, Orman said.

He said investigators do not believe the attack was random.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects, Orman said.

Anyone with information is urged to call police dispatch at (925) 778-2441.
