Two Years Later, Still No Sign Of Hassani Campbell

OAKLAND (KCBS) – It was two years ago Wednesday that six-year-old Hassani Campbell went missing from a shoe store in the Rockridge area of Oakland and there has been no sign of him since.

The boy was reported missing by his foster father, Louis Ross, outside a shoe store on the afternoon of August 10th, 2009. From the beginning, police were suspicious of Ross and his fiancée Jennifer Campbell, who is also Hassani's aunt. The pair were later arrested, but they were released after the district attorney decided there wasn't enough evidence to charge them.

KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:

"It's sad that we haven't been able to bring justice for Hassani," said Sherri-Lyn Miller, who founded a group called Citzens for the Lost. "I wish we could do more, but we realized after talking to the district attorney and homicide investigators that there is no more that we could possibly do."

Ross and Campbell have since moved out of state.
