Vallejo Woman Accused Of Hiring Teens To Kill Ex-'s New Wife

SAN PABLO (CBS/AP) -- Authorities say a 36-year-old Vallejo
woman faces attempted murder charges for allegedly hiring two teens
to kill her ex-boyfriend's new wife.

Prosecutors have charged Darlene McDade on Monday with two counts
of attempted murder for trying to kill the San Pablo woman on two
occasions.

Police said McDade, who was in a custody dispute with her ex-boyfriend over their young daughter, allegedly told two teens she would pay them to shoot the woman.

Police said the woman was struck with a pellet in her leg after running from a man armed with 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun on May 4.

Authorities said the woman was shot at while driving a week later.

A 15-year-old boy, a friend of McDade's older daughter, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

McDade and the teen are in custody. Another teen was released to his parents.
