Hundreds Brave Cold & Fog At SF Giants Slumber Party

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – It was cold, damp, windy and foggy at AT&T Park in San Francisco Wednesday night, but that didn't stop hundreds of Giants fans from pitching tents  in the outfield for the annual Giants Slumber Party.

The Giants' bats are more 'slumber' than 'party' these days, but that did nothing to deter the masses.  Each person paid $200 for the event, which included game tickets to Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

"We get to sleep out here all night and then they serve us breakfast in the morning," giggled Giant's fan Katie. "I'm just so excited!"

KCBS' Tim Ryan Reports:

Those in attendance took in (very) big screen movies, a huge slide, pictures with the championship trophy, and about 200 pizzas. They also were about to get autographs from relief pitcher Sergio Romo.

"They need to make sure they bundle up and snuggle up tonight because it's going to be cold," said Romo.

Although the pizzas went fast, there were no lines for the ice cream bars.
