Picnic In Point Richmond To Raise Money For School Music Program

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Point Richmond is holding its second annual Picnic in the Point Saturday, complete with a dunk-tank, face painting and food.

Five local bands are scheduled to perform while children's activities are planned throughout the event, which runs from noon to 6:30 p.m. at George Carroll Park at the corner of Cutting and Garrard boulevards.

Ticket sales for Saturday's event will help fund the music program at Washington Elementary School in Point Richmond. Last year's picnic event raised $6,000 for the music program, organizers said.

Picnic in the Point is organized by the Point Richmond Business Association, Washington Elementary School Parent Teacher Association and other local groups.

General admission is free and tickets can be purchased for food, drinks and games, which include a bouncy castle, sack races, a water balloon launch, a beanbag toss and bocce ball.
