3.0 Earthquake Rattles South Bay Near San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sunday morning about 65 miles south of San Jose near the Monterey-San Benito County border, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake struck an area about 6 miles northwest of Pinnacles at 10:04 a.m., according to the USGS.

The quake had a depth of 4.3 miles.

A 4.6-magnitude quake struck the same area early Saturday, and a series of aftershocks have been recorded since then.
