Daily Madden: Kick-Off For Madden NFL 12

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis won a fan poll to grace the cover of the latest version of John Madden's popular NFL video game released Tuesday.

John told the KCBS morning crew he originally envisioned what is now Madden NFL 12 as a teaching tool.

"If I could take these football plays and put them in against a defense to see their chance of success against a computer, that would save a lot of time practicing," John said. "I had no idea that it was going to be a video game."

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is looking to repeat a spectacular 2010 season in Denver after a somewhat lackluster career with the 49ers.

"That does happen. Sometimes the light goes on, the guy gets in the right system, makes a few plays, the quarterback believes in him, the coach believes in him, then they start including him as an important part of the game plan," Madden said. "Sometimes it takes six or seven years to get it." (7:20)
