you said in the program it will be a year till the bike lane will be open to the public. Will there be barriers for the safety of the bikers when they come off the bridge? I saw the bike route on evening magazine and seem very interesting and fun to go on-am looking forward to do.

I am so sick of the media…Do you people ever read the DMV code? If you have wheels you are like a car. …you can not drive on any side walk or crosswalk. Yet… the media projects bike riding behavior in mythical excuses all bike riders use and choose to no abide by the laws that all drivers of any ….car….bike, skate board…skates are exempt from
the law in California

You@garitage. Sounds as if you just drive a car! Try riding a bike or better yet; walk through the streets of SF. The media is reporting on how many drivers are having accidents (including autos, Muni and buses).
Remember, cars don’t kill people, it can be the drivers using them.

@garitage – I don’t know what you’re talking about. All the cyclists I know abide by traffic rules. Sorry you feel this way. This episode doesn’t show anyone not abiding by traffic laws. Cyclists are riding in bike lanes.
Riding bikes is fun, social, healthy, safe, good for the environment, and good for the future. You should try it sometime.

@Kristen. That’s like saying ALL cars abide by rules…never go through red lights, coast through stop signs, talegate, etc. No one is perfect and some sadly act like they are entitled to more.

And this episode doesn’t display any cyclists breaking the rules.
You and Garitage should try urban cycling sometime. It’s fun, healthy, social and safe.

I got rid of my mountain bike a few years ago. It just isn’t safe to ride in S.F. Too many people driving crazy and on their cell phones. I wonder if the police have issued even one ticket for talking on cell phones while driving in SF? I can’t even tell you how many times my dogs and I have almost gotten killed crossing in the crosswalk on a green light.
