Jaywalker Severely Injured Crossing SF’s 19th Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car while jaywalking in San Francisco’s Sunset District late Friday night, police said.

The accident was reported at 11:02 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Lawton Street.

Police said the 22-year-old victim was jaywalking west across 19th Avenue when a vehicle traveling south struck him.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, police said.

The driver of the car stopped and cooperated with police.

    I am sorry the person was injured, but one of the reasons I hate going into San Francisco is the fact that so many people walk across the streets without even looking first.
    They cross during green lights, the cross after lights change. Generally they are extremely irritating and I get angry since the police don’t do anything about it.
    Start ticketing the people with LARGE fines!!!
