Switching Problem Causes Delays On Muni Metro

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A switching problem at San Francisco Municipal Railway's West Portal station caused delays of up to 40 minutes across the light-rail system Wednesday afternoon, a Muni spokesman said.

Delays are affecting travel in both directions on all Muni Metro lines between the West Portal station and The Embarcadero, spokesman Paul Rose said. Bus shuttles are supplementing service between those stations.

According to the transit agency, delays lasted into the evening rush hour.

"The trains are still running, just slower than normal," Rose said.
