2 Injured In Fire At San Jose Condo Complex

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – A fire at a condo complex in San Jose's Gateview neighborhood Wednesday afternoon injured two and displaced eight residents, a fire spokeswoman said.

Firefighters responded to the three-alarm blaze around 3 p.m. at a six-unit apartment building in the 2300 block of Bear Valley Lane, fire Capt. Mary Gutierrez said.

The fire was under control by 5:40 p.m. and fire crews were still on the scene as of 6:30 p.m. to ensure there were no hidden fires and to salvage property, Gutierrez said.

KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:

One person was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries and another was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, according to Gutierrez.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the eight residents who were displaced by the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
