SF Woman Stabs Alleged Home Intruder To Death

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man who was fatally stabbed when he allegedly broke into a home in San Francisco's Hunters Point neighborhood early Sunday has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 40-year-old Anthony Payne.

The stabbing was reported at 4:47 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 700 block of Kirkwood Avenue.

The female resident said she heard noises in her home and was confronted by the intruder, who began choking her, police said.

The resident used a knife to stab the intruder, identified as Payne, who later died, according to police.

More details about the case were not immediately available Monday morning, police said.
