SUV Driver Killed In Solo Accident In Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) - All lanes of Mathilda Avenue at eastbound state Highway 237 in Sunnyvale were reopened following a fatal crash Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of an SUV was heading east on Highway 237 when the vehicle hit the guardrail several times before driving off the freeway, flipping over and coming to a stop on Mathilda Avenue at about 3:55 a.m., CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports:

The crash killed the driver of the SUV, Bartlett said. No other people were injured in the collision.

Officers closed the southbound lanes of Mathilda Avenue at about 5:10 a.m.
