Daily Madden: Addressing Fake Injuries In The NFL

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The St. Louis Rams have filed a complaint with the NFL accusing the New York Giants of faking injuries to slow down the Rams no-huddle offense Monday night. John Madden told the KCBS morning crew the issue needs to be addressed.

"We're probably going to see more of that now because there are more teams going into the hurry-up offense," Madden said. "There's probably going to be more defenses faking injury to slow it up."

John said the NFL should investigate, since faking injury is already against the rules.

"You can't put it on the officials... the officials can't play doctor out there," said the former coach.

KCBS morning anchor Stan Bunger noted that Madden is being inducted into the College of San Mateo Sports Hall of Fame, joining Bill Walsh among others.

"They (community colleges) serve a great purpose," John said. "Without them there'd be a lot of us that wouldn't get where we eventually got." (7:35)
