CBS 5 To Air Raiders-Jets Game Due To Sellout

OAKLAND (CBS / AP) — The Oakland Raiders have sold out Sunday's home opener against the New York Jets to avoid a local television blackout for just the second time in the last 16 home games.

The Raiders announced Thursday that the game had been sold out by the 72-hour deadline to avoid a blackout in a 75-mile radius.

As a result, the game will air live on KPIX-TV CBS 5 at 1 p.m. Sunday. In addition, CBS Radio's KFRC 1550 AM and Live 105 FM will broadcast the Raiders game as they do every week of the season; radio is not subject to the NFL's blackout rule.

The Raiders sold out only one game in each of the past two seasons. They had 14 blackouts in their last 15 home games since the 2009 season opener against San Diego. Oakland also sold out a game against Kansas City last November.

This will be the 46th of 129 regular-season home games televised since the Raiders moved back to Oakland from Los Angeles for the 1995 season.
