Mom Pleads Guilty To Punching Stockton Principal
STOCKTON (CBS) - The Stockton woman who punched a elementary school principal during an argument over the school's dress code pleaded guilty to assault on Wednesday.
Pami Alaine Gibbs, 29, struck Fillmore Elementary Principal Evangelina Ramos twice on Aug. 29 after Ramos had ordered Gibbs' third-grade son to change his T-shirt or turn it inside out. The child's shirt had a skull and crossbones.
Gibbs was sentenced to five years conditional probation and 120 days in jail, which can also be served though a work program, according to an official with the San Joaquin County Superior Court.
If she does not sign up for the work program, Gibbs must turn herself in for jail time on Dec. 1. She was credited with three days time served.
Gibbs was also ordered to pay restitution to Ramos, have no contact with the principal and stay away from the school. She must also complete 28 hours of community service. Restitution will be determined by the probation department.
