Napa County Mansion Fire Ruins Weekend Wedding Plans

NAPA COUNTY (CBS 5) - A fire that raged Thursday night in Napa County was extinguished early Friday, but not before a mansion was destroyed and a wedding jeopardized.

Flames broke out at the 7,000 square foot home along Atlas Peak Road just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Fire crews remained on the scene for much of the day Friday monitoring for hot spots.

The house belongs to winemaker Jayson Pahlmeyer, whose daughter was supposed to have her wedding there this weekend. The family said Friday that the wedding would take place at another location.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire had not been determined, but investigators have ruled out arson.
