7 Injured In SF Crash Involving Bus Full Of Elderly Passengers
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A crash near San Francisco's Parkmerced on Thursday night involved a shuttle with 14 elderly people on board and hospitalized seven people, including one critically, police and fire officials said Friday.
The crash was reported at 9:16 p.m. near the intersection of Junipero Serra Boulevard and Brotherhood Way, police said.
A vehicle was stalled on Junipero Serra Boulevard when it was rear-ended by a second vehicle, according to police.
The vehicles involved were a shuttle with 14 elderly people on board and another car with five people inside, including a small child, fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
A 77-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, while six other people were also injured and taken to various hospitals in San Francisco and San Mateo counties, Talmadge said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
