San Jose Police Identify 18-Year-Old Killed In Shooting

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police have identified the victim of Monday night's fatal shooting as Hanzel Perez Saucedo, 18, of San Jose.

Saucedo died after a shooting Monday night around 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Ross Circle, San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia said.

Police said that at least two suspects approached Saucedo, who was standing near a parked vehicle in front of an apartment complex, and one suspect pulled a gun and shot him.

The suspects fled on foot and remain at large.

Saucedo was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and he was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said the killing appears to be gang-related.

It is the 37th homicide and the 17th gang-related homicide in San Jose this year.
