San Jose Police Shoot Suspect Inside Hotel

SAN JOSE (KCBS) – San Jose police are investigating an officer-involved shooting Sunday morning at the Extended Stay Hotel on East Brokaw Road.

San Jose police spokesman Sergeant Jason Dwyer said that officers responded to the motel around 7:48 on a report of a suspicious person with a weapon.

KCBS' Bob Butler Reports:

When arriving officers approached the suspect, he displayed threatening behavior and at least one officer fired at him in self defense.

The suspect was struck at least once by gunfire and his condition was unknown. No officers were injured in the incident.

This was the seventh officer-involved shooting in San Jose this year.
