Injured Man Drives Himself To Hospital After East Palo Alto Shooting

EAST PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting in East Palo Alto, which left a man injured with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.

Police responded to the area of Saratoga Avenue and Newbridge Street shortly before 2 a.m., and located evidence of a shooting, but everyone involved had fled the scene.

A few minutes later, the officers learned that a shooting victim had arrived at a nearby hospital.

The 20-year-old Redwood City resident had been shot in the leg. He was treated at the hospital and later released.

Police said the victim told them that he was stopped in his car at that intersection when he heard gunshots. His car was hit by gunfire and he fled the scene, driving himself to the hospital for treatment.

Police have no suspects for the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the East Palo Alto Police Department.
