2 Hospitalized After Bethel Island Mobile Home Fire

BETHEL ISLAND (CBS SF) - Two people were airlifted to a hospital after their motor home caught fire on Bethel Island this morning, the East Contra Costa Fire District's chief said.

The fire was reported in the 3700 block of Stone Road at 5:08 a.m.

The victims were lying outside the burning motor home when firefighters arrived, Fire Chief Hugh Henderson said. They controlled the blaze in about 20 minutes.

Both victims were taken by helicopter UC Davis Medical Center.

One, a female, is in critical condition, Henderson said.

The fire caused approximately $10,000 in damage. The cause is still under investigation.
